Doorway to Other Worlds – Understanding Your Dreams
You open your eyes and sit up in bed, aware that while your body was resting your subconscious mind just had an extraordinary experience.
As you leave your dream state behind you become aware of familiar surroundings – the walls of your bedroom, your phone, and personal items on the table beside you, sunlight streaming through the window. No! You think to yourself. I need just a little more time. But you’re awake and there’s no going back – at least not today.
Have you ever had a dream that felt so real it was hard to believe it didn’t really happen? If the answer is yes, then this blog is for you.
Dreams play an important role. They’ve been known to provide insights into the future as well as help process emotions and get clarity on situations that might be causing you worry or stress. And that’s not all. Dreams can be your best chance at receiving guidance and connection with your spirit guides and loved ones in Heaven.
But how can you get the most out of your dream state? Well, for starters, you have to remember them.
What Did You Dream Last Night?
If you sleep, you dream – most people dream for about two hours every night and might have 4-6 separate dreams. But I’d be surprised if you remembered many of them. In fact, most of your dreams will vanish from your memory as soon as you wake up.
There’s no secret to remembering ALL your dreams (and you probably wouldn’t want to) but these five tips will help you remember more of them.
- Chill out. Stress interferes with your ability to sleep deeply and causes you to wake up more often throughout the night, which interferes with your ability to remember dreams. To calm down before bed, turn off your electronics, and listen to soft music, meditate, or read.
- Eat healthy. For a good night’s sleep and sweet, memorable dreams, avoid sugar and heavy meals before bed, and try to eat healthy throughout the day.
- Avoid caffeine and alcohol before bed.
- Set your intention before falling asleep. Awareness might be all you need to remember that important dream – and figure out what it meant.
- Wake up slowly. If your alarm clock jolts you out of bed, you’re sure to forget all about the dream you were in the middle of. If you can, set your alarm so you can wake up slowly, and while you’re still groggy do your best to grab a pen and paper and jot down anything you can remember about your dreams.
What the Heck Was That All About?
Do you ever wake up from a particularly vivid dream and wonder what on earth (or Heaven) your subconscious is trying to tell you? I might have your answer. Let’s spend a minute exploring what dreams mean and how to interpret them properly:
Different kinds of dreams:
- Dream Visitations – While you’re in a subconscious state, the veil between the physical world and the spirit world becomes very thin, and your loved ones who have passed can take the opportunity to pay you a visit. You don’t have to be a medium to experience this – all you must be is open and receptive. Dreams like this are usually very emotional, and make you feel like you are visiting Heaven.
- Premonitional Dreams – These are dreams that hold signs of things to come – they can tell you what might happen if you choose a certain path. These dreams can be scary, and feel like a warning, but if you pay attention and interpret them correctly, they will provide you with valuable guidance.
- Fear Dreams – A lot of people call these “anxiety dreams” and they can feel like everything you fear has come to life. You might dream of the worries and anxieties that you are running away from. This kind of dream isn’t fun but can be a valuable tool to show you what you might be avoiding or pushing away – and give you practice in facing them.
- Symbolic Dreams – These dreams normally don’t make sense because their meaning is hidden deep within. These dreams are when messages come from a symbol. For example, a dream of a deer can mean anything from independence to grace. It can also be a personal symbol – maybe there was someone who used to call you “dear?” In dreams like this, there might be common interpretations, but only you can figure out what these symbols say about yourself and your life.
The key to understanding you psychic dreams:
When it comes to dreams, most people find themselves confused when interpreting their meanings, but the combination of setting your intention to dream, remembering the details, and using your intuition to interpret your dreams can help you unlock their secrets.
If you can remember your dreams, write them down in a dream journal. Be as detailed as possible and start looking for patterns. Pay attention to the details.
Where were you in the dream, who was with you and how did you feel about what was happening?
Were you frustrated, scared, or happy?
Was there something you were trying to do but couldn’t?
What was stopping you?
Were there things that seemed out of place? A rubber duck in the road or a horse in the kitchen?
If there’s a dream that’s recurring, or that seems very significant, jot down everything you can remember about it and think about it throughout the day. It might hold the key to something you’ve been struggling with – or it might be a message from a loved one in Heaven.

Hi Matt, I have had dreams of animals. I have had dreams of being afraid. I’ve also had dreams being very confused, and while in my dream trying to figure out why I’m Dreaming this. I would like to thank you for your videos thank you for your book. I feel it is helping me to feel the light again.
My son got in a fatal vehicle accident..He was 19 years old..I started having vivid dreams where he came to me and told me information.
One of these dreams/visions had me riding with him as a passenger the night of the accident..My son was full of fear while driving..I leaned over and there were headlights in the rear view mirror. They were on his vehicle bumper. I need to know if others caused his wreck..
Please help me.
I saw the Arab spring before it happened. It was very clear and although this was some years ago I can still remember it. I do have prophetic dream now and again. Also I see things while I’m awake.
I had a premonition when my son was 12 I had dreamt that when we were driving in our car he had gone through the windshield and half of his face was bloodied.A few days later he was hit by a car and thankfully the overhead and is ok 🙏🏻 Didn’t know at the time it was a premonition I pay attention to my dreams and share them if they are messages of future. It’s so upsetting because you don’t know what is a warning or just a dream🙏🏻
Hi Matt 😔
My mom & dad have been divorced for several yrs. My dad just passed recently, and she says she keeps having these recurring dreams of him and she’s yelling at him for dying, and he says I know I’m sorry. I’ve told my mom to that I watch your videos and read your post on Facebook and I think your awesome, also that you’ve said your loved one could have a message for you. It’s pretty much the same dream every time, and I believe she has said she wakes up around the same time every night as well, we’re kinda stumped on why she keeps having this dream. “Weird” ? Lol
My special need daughter passed away 2 years ago. I NEED to know that she isn’t scared without me with her, and that she’s okay, not handicapped any longer.
Me and my daughter have dreams my sin is alive and he’s says I didn’t die I’m right here …they were wrong wen they told you I died
I lost my husband Nov.2007 from cancer.. My 4year old grand daughter was sick and the night I went to bed I was worried about her.. Her mother was taking her to the doctor again on the morning I was going to wake up. well that night i don’t remember much about my husband coming to me but some one did.. Well that morning I called my daughter and told her to tell the doctor to run a Ct scan or what ever scan they can do…T he told my daughter that my grand daughter was too you.. Then my daughter told her what i had said that i thought it was a brain tumor and it could be cancer…Well they ran the test and we was at children Hospital that night seeing a doctor down there.. And a few days later they were going to remove it and before the surgery the doctor asked us why we where they so fast.. I told him your not going to believe me but I had a dream and I think my husband came to me and told me to get help right away.. He said yes I do believe it. And when they removed it was cancer.. And the day they did it was the same day my husband found out he had lung cancer…and now my grand daughter is 14 years old and cancer free.. Am so happy that she made it. I feel like he died to save her.. When she was born she was born early and when she came home we took care of her so mom could go back to work..
Hello Matt Fraser. I’ve had some pretty spectacular dreams and have written many down. One happened that repeated three times during the night. I awoke to take a drink of water and went right back to the same dream. I was like an angel with others roving along a brick like road looking to receive souls to go into soul bulbs. One was not ready as she half way came through. We all chanted she is not ready. Have had some spectacular visions as well. Have them all written as well. Keep thinking it is done with visions then another comes along.
I had a scary dream going back many years
I woke up scared that the Tower that I could see from my bedroom window had been blown up. I was so scared that my mum took me to my mum and dads bedroom to try and get back to sleep. 35 mins later the tower was blown up by a terrorist group. I don’t like premonitions
i keep dreaming about my husband who past away who has been gone for 26 years he was only 55 yo was he gone to soon also i lost a 19 months old daughter i still think of her is she all right did she have to go
Your blog dated Dec. 2, 2021 with that fantastic painting (?) grabbed my attention.
Spoke to many internal levels!
I needed to see this. Yesterday I had a dream of my grandmother that passed away in 2004. She spoke spanish, but understood when I spoke to her in English. In my dream my son went into her bedroom chasing after a dragon that later turned into a cat. I told him don’t mess with the cat it is going to bite or scratch you! In her room there were two beds. A big bed and a small bed. I looked over at the small bed,and seen my grandmother. I was confused yet so happy to see her. She was laying on her bed covered with a white sheet wearing a white t-shirt and black underwear. I asked her how she was doing? She said she was good, but was warning me about a personal woman area. It was as if she was sick from something that had to do with her woman area. She told me never to do something with my woman area. I told her I won’t I promise. I asked if I could give her a hug. She looked at me hesitant, as she leaned in I kissed her on her forehead. It was then when her eyes opened wide and she looked at me. I embraced her so tight, and suddenly woke up in tears only to realize it was a dream. Reading your article and writing about it made me realized it wasn’t just a dream. She came down to tell me not to go through with another surgery to fix my lady problems. I believe in signs and the messages in my dreams. Thank you for this article and it being my sign to look further into my dream of my grandmother.
By the time I was seventeen, I had multiple traumatic experiences, a near death twice, and abilities to leave my body. A martial arts guy told me how to meditate. When I did, I traveled to another dimension immediately. I met the most loving being ever. They were floating with a giant loose floating shiny rope. They i me but I chose to come back here.
Another vivid dream that happened to me recently was, something came and took my consciousness and flew me quickly into the “Devils hole” (in Ash Meadows Nevada)and through all these connected chambers. I stopped at a damp, dark chamber. In front of me was my Mayan ancestor, who is blind and starved, and two bigger, stronger men. I felt the men were holding my ancestor hostage. Something n me led me to know what to do. I lifted him, walked away from the two men, took him to a light shinning down, and he left. It was more real than real!
i had a dream many years ago…it was frightful because it seemed so real…I awoke ..by body heaving from exhaustion and sweating…eventually I went back to sleep…however, the following week the same dream occurred…this time I did not ignore it…and again frightened!…This entire episode came thru in my real life experience…every single mundane detail…ie..a pencil dropping on my mahogony desk…etc..
It paved a realistic view of who i had become…w confidence I have shared thruout my years…the business man who was in this dream …had many flaws…and a few virtues…he has passed…but recently he came to me…as if…to give me a double doze of strength…a shot in the arm…
Hi Matt! I just heard about you on YouTube a few weeks ago and I can’t stop watching your readings. The reason I knew you were authentic right away was because your aim is to heal and not to plant drama. It’s pretty amazing to watch you at work, helping people.
When I was a teenager, I had a dream that was so intense, I’ve remembered it for the rest of my life. Even 20+ years later, I can still feel the energy from it. The strange thing was that I didn’t remember the dream when I woke up. I didn’t even know I had an experience until later that day at work. I was going through a rough time in my life, finding myself, and at a job I didn’t’ like very much, it hit me. The most profound and ethereal feeling I had ever had. I remembered the dream suddenly and vividly. It was as if I was speed-downloading the entire dream in a second. It was intense and beautiful.
The dream was that I was flying around (flying was a common dream for me, but this was much more real and intense and I just *knew* that it actually happened) an island. I glided over crystal blue waters, hovering just inches over it. I flew up and down and it was probably the best feeling I’ve ever experienced.
All my life, I’ve been wanting to experience that again… I meditate daily and use other practices to connect with spirit – but I haven’t had that same feeling again. My wish is that I can experience that same feeling of pure love and joy while still alive in this body, and while awake. I hope to realize that freedom for myself and for others.
Thanks for the work you do! I hope to connect with you one day.
Dear Matt, I’ve watched your work a few times and it has relieved my heart to know our loved ones are among us. Thank you! Love, ~Dusty
The weirdest dream last night I was in my house and all of a sudden there was water all over the floor and I walked into the bathroom and saw the toilet had broken in half as someone hit it with a sled hammer. water was all over the place so I turned off the water to the house and found this man sitting in the corner with his head in his hands and I crying because of all the damage to my house and said what did you do why did you break the toilet and flood the house. All the lights would not turn on and the old man responded I own this house and then started walking towards the light switches that would not turn on for me and they all turned on when he touched them. That’s all I remember.

When I was a teen I had a recurring that my step-father was beheaded with a guillotine in front of my family in the living room by some intruders. I’ve also had another recurring dream that started about 5 years ago in which my 2nd daughter, who is now 18, and I get into a really bad car accident but I wake up crying and never find out if she survives the accident or not. That particular dream scares the crap out of me and now I honestly don’t even want her driving at all so I haven’t taught her how. In the dream, sometimes I’m driving and sometimes it’s her who is driving and the accident is rarely the same but it’s always bad and possibly fatal but I always survive and wake up crying and calling her name. So when it’s just her and I in the car I drive extra careful and watch my surroundings a lot closer. I feel like that dream is a warning trying to prepare me for what’s to come. I seriously hope I’m wrong cause even though I have 5 kids, if I were to lose any 1 of them I don’t think I’d be able to survive that. What do you think? Please tell me that my interpretation is wrong or could be wrong.
I spent over two years in hospital. While I was in Hospital, both my parents died within five weeks of each other. They didn’t believe in heaven. I was very close to them. I never got to say goodbye because I was in Hospital. I have been hoping and asking them for a sign, but there have been none. I am usually very sensitive to the dead, I can see ghosts, I am worried about my not having had any sign’s from my parents. It’s been over two years now.
Hi Matthew how are you I’ve got a dream where the moon made mermaid she was talking to me about my Gran mum or grandma passed away long time ago and milk and my cousin also pass story Some time I dream of Jesus we talk
Hi Matt, I’m scheduled to be in one of your readings in December but I wanted to let you know, I had a dream about 12 years ago that I went into a mental facility it was an intense but enjoyable dream, four years later I end up in the mental facility the crazy part is I knew everybody their their names their personalities and in the dream I went to a specific door in reality I avoided it like crazy. I’ve had many dreams like this and I don’t understand what it means it has scared me for a long time. I went to get off soma medication and did well ever since but this is long since scared me.
I see all your online readings and it’s wonderful to not to worry about our love ones that have past. I have had this reoccurring dream probably over 5 to more years. It stopped for a while but it has returned. I am in a house that we bought and find out that there are lots of other rooms that are attached. In one dream I finally get the nerve to explore some of the rooms in which I have found an elderly lady laying in a bed, one room had a little boy in a day care every room was different. The only reason I explored the rest of the house in my dream is because I needed more closet space. I’ve had this dream probably 5 plus more times

I had a dream last year where I woke up screaming “no no no no no!!” I couldn’t remember what the dream was I was having. This past April I layer down for a nap. When I woke up I grabbed my phone to check the time and saw I had missed a bunch of calls and texts from my oldest daughter. I looked at the text and found myself screaming “NO NO NO NO NO NO!!” My oldest son had been shot and murdered. I wish I had recalled the dream, maybe I could have prevented my son’s murder…. 🙁
img mum has passed and i keep dreaming she comes home and tells us that she woke up in her casket and heard someone digging so she starts to scream and they dig her back up what would this mean
Since I was a child I would have dreams that seemed so real I would awake confused or scared. These dreams I had all came true. Now I know a lot of the dreams where like warnings you could say it’s so hard to put in words. My intuition is so spot on, all ways has been and still is. I know things before it happens and I don’t know how I know but I do. I will say I been bless with this. It’s helped me in so many ways to stay safe. I also would have dreams and while Iam dreaming I would know that I was. I can actually wake my self out of the dream if I didn’t like it, if it got to scary. I would force myself to awake. Then when I got in my early thirty’s my dreams started to slow down and then I started to have vision. My vision would range from know if someone was upset to my friends passing to ten years into the future. Which now we are in that ten years I saw ten years ago . Sometime I think it’s a curse. Who wants to have a vision at a Christmas party while your friend standing next to you and know that you just had a vision . Standing next to you with big eyes like a little child excited asking what you see over and over. You don’t want to tell them but your there only hope in a way you think. Even with your fare warnings it still happens just like you saw within three weeks. It still to this day hunts me. All I know Matt if your reading this keep doing what your doing. You bring people closer and helping them to live again which this world really needs is more love and more caring about others like you do. You help people to start healing which helps them to be able to feel love again. It seems for some reason my dreams and vision have died down. I wounder all the time why me and how is this possible.I feel so alone all the time. I have cried for so long for closure on some passing but know am so happy to see others that you blessed with closure for them and want to say thank you for being you MATT .you have helped so many . Much love to you and your family.
Great article to read! I have been very interested in this exact thing recently and I just so happen to see an email with this blog how neat!? In college,in psychology class, I had to make my own dream diary which was so interesting. The professor did not have time to interpret patterns with us but thanks for the reminder tip of writing them down in a journal! I had this vivid dream recently and I have been searching for answers to it for awhile now:in my dream I was in my own home walking down my long hallway. Someone in the form of a shadow person was walking behind me but I could not tell who it was.At the end of my hallway was a ridiculously blinding white light. So vibrant! So radiant! This shadow person and I were just walking towards the light and I was so damn happy!! I was comfortable and so peaceful. I was focused on heading into this light and while having the happiest feeling I have felt in a long time come over me. It just seemed we were casually walking but I never did reach the end. It’s hard to differentiate between my hallway getting longer as I was walking toward the light or if I just woke up before doing so because the dream seemed to last for a long time. When I woke up I even cried because that happy feeling was still present. I recent lost my mother 1year ago and my grandma 6months ago. Now contrary to this my sister keeps having dreams of our mother telling her I am going to die and me passing away. Im sure I should just stick to my specific dream when interpreting right or is it possible they are related and my mom was bringing me over to god.. ? Idk. It is confusing but the dream was so vivid I still can remember and feel all the details.
A young man I would more than likely have married was killed when I was 16, and after the funeral, his family, and mine, asked us to never ever talk about him. So I didn’t. What I learned YEARS later was that his sister and I who are very close, never grieved. After HIS father passed, his sister and I rekindled our relationship. We had lost track of each other for years due to marriages and divorce.
Fast forward to a conversation she and I were having when I asked her if my memory of him owning a fox as a pet was correct and she sent me a photo. I went into a COMPLETE meltdown. And she and I talked for hours that day about his loss. This was 40 YEARS after his death. My father had removed all of his pictures from our family albums as we used to vacation with his family every summer. So I had no emotional keepsakes. Until the picture.
Several days later, I woke up one morning, after having one of the dreams you describe here. I KNOW it was him. We were older than when he died, were arguing, in fun, over who got to drive the tractor. We were living on a ranch, which would have been absolutely the way we would have lived. I was an extreme horse nut, trained and showed for 38 years, loved ranch work, cattle round ups, etc. and his father had a ranch that I lived and worked on for 10 years with my first husband.
I did NOT want to be awake, I wanted to “go back” and not return to this plane of existence, despite the fact that I am married to a great guy. I cried when I could not go back to sleep. I did not want to be here. I can feel that dream to this day. And I remember VERY few dreams.
I called both his sister and his mom to tell them of the dream. They both said “you had a visit”. The hardest part was explaining to my VERY understanding husband why I was crying on and off through the day. He totally understood why and said it was because he had been my first love and I never got to see it to fruition. I am blessed by his attitude. But there is a big part of me that really wants to be in that dream again.
I had a dream about my husband and he was sitting in a chair and seemed very depressed and its vision has been stuck in my head and I not sure how to take it
I have always had a dream that feels so real I wake up to look for my baby that I had in my dream. I’m always a little sad the baby isn’t here but its also a really happy dream 🙂 My other happy dream is when I’m flying by my self 🙂
A dream I had the early 70s~ When I was a young, (then married)mother with 2 babies. My husband took us on a drive to a huge stately home, to look at car one of the workers there, was selling. This dream extremely vivid, Every minute detail I remember to this day,48yrs later! The drive there, the grounds of the huge house…the man who greeted us, the outhouse with a tap running through a hose onto the floor, sheep on the grass etc.3 mths after my dream, Every single detail actually happened! The man saw my shock & asked if there was anything wrong.I told him I’d dreamt of this place 3 mths previously! His answer was,’Oh! Not you as well!’ To this day, I so wish I’d asked him to elaborate & I’ve never forgotten any details.
