Holidays In Heaven

Holidays In Heaven

My family loves any occasion when they can be together, eat, drink, and have a good time.

Oh, and for Alexa and I, if we have a reason to get dressed up – even better! Weddings, graduations, holidays, you name it; when there’s a celebration going on you can count us in. If you check out the preview for my new television show for a few minutes, you’ll see we’re not afraid to let loose and show our feelings. What can I say, we’re Italian!

Alexa and I love to bring back old traditions. This year we started to sending out personalized Christmas Cards. We hope to save them and send a new one out every year with a personal picture. Our life has been so hectic lately with touring, traveling and filming that we haven’t gotten to see some of our old friends or extended family. We wanted them to know that we still think about them so we decided this year to send out personal cards. We gathered our three bengal cats, got dressed up and sat under the Christmas tree in our matching outfits for the photo for our card.

For people like us, as much as we love the holidays and everything that comes with them, they are not without the occasional tearful moment. Because the time of year is so packed with family traditions and happy memories, it naturally makes us remember our departed friends and relatives and wish they were still around to share the festivities.

When I was a kid growing up, I just adored my grandma Mary. She was a medium too, and she really understood me. She crosses my mind often, but especially during times of celebration, since she loved nothing more than to cook and share good times with family. I have to admit whenever we’re sitting down for a big meal, I miss her cooking. Alexa and I still use some of her recipes when prepare our own holiday feast.

And that reminds me of what I wanted to tell you!

You don’t have to go through the holidays without the presence of all of the people you love, even those who have passed over. Here are a few ways to “prop open the door to Heaven” and experience loving signs and energy from souls on the other side.

Hey, don’t take that the wrong way! I’m not giving you tips to have a “haunted holiday”. This isn’t something scary – the energy I’m talking about is pure love and compassion.

Here are some ways to enhance the connection with your friends and loved one in Heaven:

  • Keep their favorite traditions alive while creating your own. Whenever Alexa and I prepare one of Grandma’s recipes, I feel her standing over me, reminding me to add a little more salt. If you’re not a cook, don’t worry – you can play a favorite Christmas carol or hang a loved one’s cherished holiday ornament on your tree.

  • Talk about them! Don’t hesitate to talk about those who can’t be with you. Sharing stories and memories makes you feel close and is a healing way of staying connected. The worst thing anyone can do is to stop talking about someone when they pass to avoid making people sad. That just makes everyone miss them more.

  • Set a place at the table. If you have space, leave an empty chair and place setting for a relative who can’t be with you. Prop their photo against a wine glass and make a toast to their memory.

  • Allow yourself some quiet time when you can remember the loved ones who are no longer with you. You might want to say a little prayer or write about them in your journal. Doing so will let them know how grateful you are that they were a part of your life.

  • Look for signs from heaven – and take it one step further. You can start the day by having a silent conversation to your loved one and ask them to send you a sign. You can even get specific and ask for a certain kind of sign that’s meaningful to both of you. Then stay alert and watch what happens!

If I have learned anything from being a medium, it’s that death isn’t the end. Once you realize that it takes the edge off of grieving and missing those you have lost. And when family gathers, it’s wonderful to know that no one is missing. Everyone is there, either in body or in spirit.

If you’ve recently lost someone, of course it’s normal to be sad – but it helps to remember that your loved ones are always with you. During these LIVE events I will be helping you reconnect with your loved ones in spirit as well as sharing life lessons from the other side right from home!

A Home Run in Heaven

A Home Run in Heaven

When your nine-year-old son comes home from school with a stiff neck, you never expect it will turn out to be cancer.

As a pediatric nurse, Maureen Olsen had experience with childhood diseases, and when faced with her son’s cancer diagnosis was determined to stay positive. She was convinced that her doctors would find an effective treatment to heal her boy. So, when her beloved Chase repeatedly asked, “Mom, am I going to die?” Maureen reassured him, “You’re not going to die  you’re going to get better!” After all, how could she tell him the truth when she herself couldn’t accept the possibility that Chase might not survive.

But just months after Chase was diagnosed, his condition began to deteriorate rapidly. Eventually, his lungs filled with fluid and he was put into a medically induced coma. With his family gathered around him, 9-year-old Chase slipped away.

Struggling with grief and guilt

The fact that she wasn’t able to keep her promise to Chase and that she hadn’t prepared him for his death haunted Maureen for years after his passing. As a nurse, she replayed the events over and over in her mind. Could she have caught the cancer sooner or sought out a more aggressive treatment?

There must have been something she could have done!

For ten years, Maureen struggled with grief and guilt over her son’s untimely death. She even sought out several mediums for comfort and reassurance. Before Chase’s passing, Maureen had been interested in mediumship, but had never attended a demonstration or employed the services of a medium.

After she lost him, the grieving mother attended a number of mediumship demonstrations hosted by Tyler Henry, James Van Praagh, John Edwards, Teresa Caputo, and others. She was never selected for a reading, but watching the mediums connect audience members with their loved ones in Heaven comforted her.

Signs from Heaven

At the same time, Chase was making his presence known to his mother.  Dragonflies and music were his most common ways to reach out. After Chase’s death, Maureen often noticed a single dragonfly hovering nearby. Intuitively, she knew the dragonfly was Chase’s way of  staying close to her. But that wasn’t all. In the last year of his life, Chase had become obsessed by Michael Jackson. He especially loved the song, “Man in the Mirror.” He learned the words and practiced the pop star’s dance moves. He had even planned to be Michael Jackson for Halloween. Maureen had already started gathering pieces for his costume when Chase entered the hospital.  He was never able to dress as Michael, but after Chase passed his mother would hear Michael Jackson at the most unexpected times and feel that Chase was reaching out to her.

Have you heard about Matt Fraser?

About ten years after Chase had passed, Maureen was still trying to come to terms with the loss of her son.  Then a good friend told her about Matt Fraser. “You have to see Matt the next time he comes to New Jersey” she urged Maureen.

The next time Matt was scheduled to be in town, Maureen quickly purchased 2 tickets to his event. She invited a friend who had recently lost her son. Her friend’s grief was still fresh, and Maureen badly wanted to help.

“I kept talking to Chase asking him to help bring our friends son through. He had crossed recently, and I wanted to help ease his mothers’ pain.”

The Reading

When the day of Matt Fraser’s event arrived Maureen and her friend arrived at the venue and took their seats. Matt jumped on stage and began his introductory remarks. While he was speaking to the group, Maureen noticed him glancing over at the empty chair next to her. At

Chase In His Baseball Uniform

one point he even said, “If there’s an empty chair next to you, your loved one will sit there!”

Maureen was convinced Matt could see Chase sitting next to her. Sure enough, as soon as he was done with his introduction,  Matt came straight over to Maureen’s row and look right at her.

“I have a young child who has passed” Matt pointed directly to Maureen.

Nervous, Maureen pointed to my friend, “Is it her or me?”

“He said your dad is with him.” Maureen’s father had passed three years earlier and had shared a special bond with his grandson. Before he passed, Maureen had begged her father to find Chase in heaven and give him a hug for her. At that moment she realized the reading had to be for her.

“I feel like he can’t breathe. Was it in his lungs?”

“Yes, he couldn’t breathe at the end.”

Matt said, “your son told me you took him to several doctors.”

Maureen had been to many specialists before Chase was diagnosed.

“He tells me that you did everything you could for him – there was nothing more you could have done, and he doesn’t want you to feel guilty. You were the best mom ever, and he’s sorry for everything you had to go through.”

Then Matt asked Maureen to come out to the aisle. “He wants me to hold your hand.”

Maureen walked out and Matt took her hand, then suddenly he looked over at said  “He keeps talking about a baseball mitt”

Maureen was stunned. “We buried him with his baseball mitt!”

“Get the Hell out of here – you have got to be kidding me.” Matt blurted out.

“Now he’s saying Happy Birthday” Chase’s father was having a birthday that week.

“He wants to say happy birthday to his dad!”

Maureen had seen many mediums in action, but she was amazed by how Matt had captured details about Chase so accurately. More than that, she felt that he had captured the essence of Chase – bringing through his loving nature and kind soul.

As the night unfolded, Matt did more readings for others in the room.

Maureen shared her impressions of the event. “Everything Matt told the people in the room was so spot on. He has an incredible gift, and he had us all laughing. He’s so normal – with such an incredible gift. He cares so much about what he does.”

Helping and healing.

Later that evening Maureen noticed that Matt had mentioned connecting with Chase on his Facebook page after the event, and said it was his favorite reading of the night. People who were in the audience commented on how moving the reading was. Maureen posted a picture of Chase in his baseball uniform with his glove in the comments.

Maureen reflects back on the night, and thinks she knows why Chase was so determined to come through to Matt.

“I had to go to work that night, and something really devastating happened the next day at my job. I was in a bad place for about a week until the situation resolved itself and I found out that everything was okay. I know in my heart that Chase reached out to support me thorough this difficult time.

It took me a while to put it together, but in retrospect, I have no doubt in my mind that he made his way through first – with hundreds of people in the room – because he knew I would need him.“

Maureen’s friend didn’t get a reading, but she was thrilled when Chase came through for Maureen. Hearing Matt’s words made her feel closer to her own son.

Supporting families in need

The Olsen family has become very involved in helping others affected by childhood cancer. September is Childhood Cancer Month, and they help decorate the schools and businesses in town with gold ribbons. Throughout the year, they work to provide financial and emotional support to cancer victims and their families.

Maureen and her husband also started a small foundation in Chase’s name and give out scholarships. On the year he would have graduated high school they gave out scholarships to many of his friends.

“It helps us to heal, and I know it’s what Chase wants us to do. We do it honor him, and to pay it forward.”

Maureen explained, “If there’s one I truly believe, it is that this was his path. Matt’s reading helped me make peace with losing Chase, knowing that he is always around me sending me signs and coming through when I need him the most. I can tell he knows what we’re doing to help other children and families in need, and that he’s right there cheering us

10 Signs From The Departed

10 Signs From The Departed

10 Signs of Spirit Communication: How The Departed Are Trying To Communicate With You

Death is not a permanent goodbye. I want to remind you that the same way you are learning to communicate with your loved ones in Spirit, they are also learning to communicate with you.

Signs are a special language that your loved ones in Spirit use to get your attention and keep in touch with you. They use signs to send messages to you, bring you comfort, guide you, and let you know they are with you every day.

Sometimes you might not notice the signs because they can be subtle, but once you know what to look for, your loved ones can communicate with you more easily.  Have you noticed any of the signs below ?

1.Familiar Smells That Bring Memories

Have you randomly smelled cologne or perfume that your loved one used to wear? Smells hold memories that your loved ones use to show you they are close by. For example if your Dad was a cigarette smoker, you just catch a whiff of cigarette smoke when you are home alone by yourself.

2. Signs Through Pets

Pets can see and sense Spirit too. If they randomly perk up and start barking or staring at a chair in a corner that your loved one once sat or spent time in, it’s a sign they are there.

3. Songs That Bring Meaning and Love

If a special song keeps playing in your car, house or when you are out shopping it is not a coincidence. Spirit uses music to communicate and send strong messages. It could be a song that your loved one always sang to you or a special song like a wedding song that the two of you shared.

4. Repeating Numbers

Seeing repeating numbers like 11:11, the birthday of a loved one, or a specific time of death is a sign that they made it to Heaven. They love using numbers because it is the easiest way they can reach you. The pop up randomly on license plates, clocks, or even receipts!

5. Waking Up At 3:00AM or Randomly At Night

Waking up at 3am or the same time every night is a sign. It normally happens when a loved one first passes away and is trying to get in touch with you. Bed-time is the easiest way for your loved one to reach you because your mind is in a relaxed state.

6. Dream Visitations

Those in Spirit love coming to visit you in your dreams. To them visiting in your dreams is like a Skype video call with Heaven. You might see them standing their happy and smiling or they may come and have a conversation with you. These dreams come every so often and are very real. You may even wake up thinking it actually happened.

7. Hearing Your Name Being Called

Have you ever heard your name being called and nobody was there ? You might sometimes hear your loved one. No you are not crazy. They sometimes we call out to you or say something that you can hear audibly to remind you of their presence. You might even hear then speaking to you through your thoughts when you are upset or need guidance.

8. Phone Calls from Heaven

I have had many readings where loved ones have come through the phone lines. You might get a call from their number or your phone might ring randomly and nobody is there. These calls normally come from souls that liked to play jokes here in this world. If your dad or brother was a jokester, they may be prank calling you from the afterlife. Spirit is energy and can manipulate electronics such as phones, TVs, and computers to send a message.

9. Feeling A Spiritual Presence

I have had many souls come to tell me that they visit their loved ones at night. You might feel them sit on your bed or just feel their presence In the room with you. When you feel the presence of a loved one, talk to them. They can hear you and love coming to check up on you.

10. Seeing A Spirit Figure or Silhouette

If you have ever thought you saw your loved one standing in the hall or saw a figure move past you, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. Sometimes you might catch a glimpse of your loved one for a split second. It’s rare but it does happen. Sometimes, they also will show up in photographs as distortions, blurs, lens flares or sometimes even orbs.

If you can relate to any of these signs, it means your loved ones are close by in spirit and trying to communicate. You are not alone in what you are sensing and feeling. It is real. It is why I love leading the way for groups of people to connect with spirit. It’s why my LIVE shows are so special to me.

Opening the Door to Receive Spirit Messages!

Opening the Door to Receive Spirit Messages!

It’s amazing that sometimes all you need to do to connect with someone in Spirit is invite them in. I recently had a woman who attended one of my LIVE events in Peabody ( Click Here For Event Schedule ). She came looking to hear from her Son that had passed on, she even stuffed his hat in her purse hoping he would come through and reach her with a message. The moment I walked into the room she was one of the first I read. There

was no way I could miss her son. He was literally standing behind her waving to me and asking me to come over and deliver a message

to his Mom. He said that he knew that she had brought his hat with her, but what he wanted her to know is that she didn’t need that to be able to sense and feel him or to make him come through. It’s amazing, so many people come to my events and bring articles of clothing, pictures, jewelry and one time even someones urn! It makes me laugh every time. Those you love are not attached to their material things, they are attached to YOU!

Sometimes people come to me after a show, feeling frustrated because no matter how hard they try, they have not been able to see, feel, or sense signs from their loved ones. I always give them the same advice. Your loved ones in Heaven might need a sign from YOU – so they know you’re emotionally ready for them to connect. How do you signal to them that you are open and ready? You can’t text or send them an email. No worries! There are many ways to let them know.

Here are just a few:

Say Hello.

When you want to hear from a loved one, try having a simple conversation in your mind or out loud. That will help open you up to them, and in turn, they will be able to reach out to you better. You might feel silly talking out loud by yourself – but the spirit people are tuned in to your thoughts, so it is okay to have the conversation in your mind too. It can be as simple as saying (or thinking), “I miss you.” If you have an object that reminds you of them, hold it while you talk. That will help make the connection because you will feel more like they are with you. Talk about your day or tell them about a problem you are having. Say “I need your help.” Your loved ones are listening, and they want to be there for you.

Write A Letter.

Just like a conversation, a letter is another way to reach out to your loved ones and let them know you are ready to hear from them. Write what is in your heart. Maybe you want them to help you find an answer, or maybe you just need a little reminder that they’re still with you. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you need. Write it down. A friend of mine writes letters to her mom on her computer. She types out everything she would say too if her mom were right there with her. She talks about what is going on in her life and explains in detail where she needs help. When she is done, she pushes the little x to close the window. When the box pops up that says, “Do you want to save this file?” she says, “No” because she knows her mother has already received the message just because she was typing it. You can also leave the letter in a place that is meaningful to you and your loved one. Some people even like to put a letter or note in the fire, and as the paper burns and smoke rises, they imagine the message being delivered to Heaven!

Make Something

Sometimes making something that reminds you of your loved one helps to create a space for connecting with them. It can be as simple as having an object that reminds you of them, a piece of clothing that you wear or hold. Some people make quilts out of their loved ones’ shirts. Wrapping up in a blanket like that can feel like a big hug from beyond! I heard a great idea once. A woman took a bunch of her husband’s shirts and used them to make stuffed animals for their grandchildren. She made pillows for their children. It helped her have something to do with the empty time in her life after he was gone, and whenever they were feeling sad and missing him, her family had something to hold on to.

It can be frustrating to look and wait for a sign from a loved one, and not to receive one. Remember that signs can come in many different ways. Try some of these techniques and open your heart to different possibilities. I can tell you with total confidence that your friends and family in Heaven are with your always, and they want to connect with you just as much as you do with them!

Have You Been Finding Pennies (and Dreams, and Songs, and Dragonflies…) From Heaven!

Have You Been Finding Pennies (and Dreams, and Songs, and Dragonflies…) From Heaven!

Saying goodbye to a cherished friend of family member is always heartbreaking, but you can take comfort in the fact that they’re never really gone. Your loved ones who have passed will try to communicate with you to reassure you that life continues even after death. Any time you feel a presence, it’s probably your loved ones trying to give you a gentle reminder that they are okay and continue to be with you.

They don’t want to interfere with your life. They just want you to know you are not alone, so you can live your life to your highest and best good. Signs from your loved ones will be soft and quiet. They will use things that are meaningful to send you a “personalized message” that you’re sure to recognize!

Love and comfort during difficult times.

Your loved ones sense your thoughts and emotions, and they want to help you. If you are happy, doing well and on the right track, your loved ones might not feel the need to make their presence known. But if you are going through a hard time or faced with a tough decision, those are the times when they will reach out to you to reassure you. A lot of times, you will see signs around holidays or special events – those are often very emotional times when you miss your loved ones and struggle with grief. They will want to comfort you and remind you they are okay, and that you will be together again one day.

Guidance while you sleep.

Because the other side is made up of energy, dreams are an easy way for your loved ones to reach you. They can pass you a message during that time or just show you they are with you. A woman told me a story last week. She and her husband had almost given up on being able to conceive a child. One night, she saw a vision of her father-in-law in a dream. He held her hand and said, “A baby is coming, but you have to relax.” He repeated the word “relax” over and over. When she woke up, she spoke to her husband about the dream. They had both been working very hard, and it had been a long time since they took a vacation. They booked a spa getaway. Two weeks after they got home, the pregnancy test was positive! She showed me a picture of her now five-year-old. “I’m so happy I listened.”

Be open to receiving signs throughout the day.

There are so many ways your loved ones will try to communicate. It could be a smell that triggers a memory, like an unexpected whiff of familiar aftershave, or the smell of a special flower, or the spices they used to use in making your favorite meal. Dragonflies, butterflies and rainbows are divine symbols that ill show up when you least expect, when you need to know that your loved one is with you. Say hello to your loved one’s soul the next time a butterfly flutters past!

When you see a random coin or penny, that could also be a sign. If you pick it up and check the date, it might be a meaningful number or date that was special in your relationship with your loved one. Maybe you’ll hear a song they used to sing to you or a song that they loved or a song that has special meaning to you. Maybe they’re just saying hi. Maybe they’re sending you a message through the lyrics.

If you acknowledge the sign, your loved ones will know that you heard them. They will be able to communicate with you more and more and in different ways. If you negate the sign, it tells them you aren’t ready to communicate. But don’t worry. They will keep trying. Next time, we’re going to talk about how they use repetition to keep after you until you finally are ready to listen and recognize that your loved ones are with you.
