It’s easy to be positive and upbeat when things are going your way. However, there are times when the unexpected happens and you watch as your carefully crafted plans go out the window. Right now, out of the blue, practically the whole world is on lockdown and I can’t even imagine the number of weddings, graduations, vacations, and other events are being cancelled or postponed indefinitely.

Like many others, I had to cancel many of my own upcoming events. That was hard for me! I love doing readings, and I hate to disappoint all the people who bought tickets and were hoping to hear from a loved one in Heaven.

On the other hand, I have to admit that being confined to the house hasn’t been all bad. I’ve had more time to spend with Alexa, and I’ve been enjoying doing private readings and working on my next book. Also, this forced “time-out” had given me a chance to think about my own path and what’s really important.

One thing that is clear is the importance of positivity.

When you have a positive attitude, it makes it easier to find the silver lining in every situation. With the right mindset you’re more open to opportunities and alternatives that present themselves – and the more positive you are, the more good things you attract.

Choose Positivity!

There’s a saying that goes, Life is 10 percent what happens to you, and 90 percent how you react to it. If you believe that (and I definitely do) you realize that the power is in your hands to make the most of any situation.

You might think that’s easier said than done when you’re stuck at home, running out of toilet paper!

But let me walk you through a few reasons looking on the bright side actually makes things better.

  • Focus improves situations. Have you even been shopping for a particular model of car and suddenly you see it everywhere? There are so many things that you see, hear, and experience each day that it’s impossible for them to all register. But when you’re focused on something, suddenly you’re conscious of it every time it crosses your path. If you’re looking for good news, opportunities, and examples of kindness and heroism, those things are going to stand out when you come across them. You’ll feel better and more optimistic about the world, plus you will recognize signs and signals from the universe that will help you on your path.

  • Optimism is good for your mind, body and spirit. When I was a kid and I was sick, my mom would never let me just hang around in bed. She’d make me get up and take a shower and have something to eat. After doing that, I wouldn’t be cured, but I always felt much better. It’s the same with having a positive attitude. When you have a sense of optimism and you keep pushing forward, things may not be perfect, but you’ll feel a whole lot better, in every way, than if you sat around watching the news and anticipating the worst.

  • Positivity has a ripple effect. During the pandemic, staying home to protect yourself and everyone in your community is the right thing to do. We’re in this together. But negativity can be as harmful as the virus. If you have a positive attitude and look for opportunities to provide kindness and comfort, you’ll raise your vibration. You’ll feel better, the people around you will feel better, and the effects will ripple out to your community and beyond.

Just say no to negativity!

Negativity can drain you and make you feel like you are sinking, but only if you let it!
