Have you ever felt like you were shouting into a void? Grief is a heavy, dense energy. It’s like wearing lead earplugs. When you are stuck in that place of “I can’t live without them,” your vibration is tuned so low that the light, airy energy of Spirit has a hard time breaking through. Doubt does the same thing. The Power of the Invitation: Ask and You Shall Receive
One of the biggest mistakes people make is waiting for a sign without actually inviting one. Your loved ones in Heaven respect your boundaries and your free will. They don’t want to scare you or intrude if you aren’t ready.
Think of it like this: You wouldn’t walk into a friend’s house without being invited, right? The same rule applies to the afterlife. You have to extend the invitation.
But here is the secret: specificity matters.
If you say, “Send me a bird,” you’re going to see a pigeon on the sidewalk and spend three hours wondering if that was your grandfather or just a hungry bird looking for a crust of bread. Instead, try being specific. Say, “Grandpa, if you’re with me, show me a blue jay today.” Or, “Mom, play that one song we used to dance to in the kitchen.”
When you ask for something specific, it removes the “Is it or isn’t it?” factor. It’s like a direct phone call rather than a broadcast. I’ve seen this work in the most incredible ways. I once knew a woman who asked her son for a very specific sign, a yellow rubber duck in a place where it shouldn’t be. Two days later, she found a tiny rubber duck sitting on top of her car’s tire in a parking garage. That’s not a coincidence; that’s a conversation.
Decoding the Language of Heaven
Spirit speaks in a language of symbols and synchronicities. They don’t usually walk through the wall and hand you a note (though wouldn’t that be easier?). Instead, they use what’s available to them in the physical world. As a death medium, I’ve learned that there are a few “classics” that they love to use.
Heavenly Numbers
Have you been seeing 11:11, 222, or 444 everywhere lately? These are often called heaven numbers or heavenly numbers. They are like digital “pokes” from the other side. When you see a repeating sequence, it’s Spirit saying, “I’m right here. Pay attention.”
Coins and Found Objects
Finding pennies or dimes in odd places, on your pillow, in a freshly washed dryer, or even in the middle of a forest, is a classic sign. It’s a literal “penny for your thoughts.” They are letting you know they are providing for you and watching over you.
Animals and Nature
Cardinals, butterflies, and dragonflies are the messengers of the sky. If an animal behaves unusually, like a bird landing on your porch and staring at you for a long time, it’s a sign. They are using that creature’s energy to get close to you.
The Graveyard Myth: Can the Dead See You When You Visit?
I get asked this constantly: “Can the dead see you when you visit their grave?”
People worry that if they don’t go to the cemetery every Sunday, their loved ones will feel abandoned. They worry that their parents are “trapped” in the dirt, waiting for a visitor.
Let me set the record straight: Your loved ones are not in the graveyard.
The cemetery is for the living. It’s a place for us to reflect and remember, but the soul of your loved one isn’t hovering over a headstone. They are where the love is. If you’re at home baking their favorite cookies, they are in the kitchen with you. If you’re at your daughter’s graduation, they are in the front row.
They can absolutely see you when you visit their grave, but they see you everywhere else, too. You don’t need to go to a specific plot of land to talk to them. You are the monument to their life. Surrendering the “How”: Why Trying Too Hard Blocks the Connection
There is a huge difference between being observant and being obsessive.
If you are constantly hunting for signs, scouring the ground for pennies and staring at the clock until it hits 11:11, you are actually pushing the energy away. Why? Because the energy of “hunting” is the energy of “lack.” It says, “I don’t have a connection, so I have to find one.”
Spirit thrives in the energy of surrender. Most of the best signs come when you are doing something mundane, driving to work, folding laundry, or brushing your teeth. Why? Because your conscious mind is busy, which allows your subconscious (the part that connects to Spirit) to open up.
Don’t be scared to let go. You aren’t losing them by not thinking about them every second. In fact, by relaxing, you’re making it much easier for them to “tap you on the shoulder.” As one of the best psychics in the United States, I always tell my clients: the more you relax, the more they can reach you.
Using Your Intuition: Sign or Coincidence?
Is this a sign or am I just crazy?
That is the question everyone asks. Here is the golden rule: A real sign always comes with a feeling.
A coincidence is something you notice with your eyes. A sign is something you feel in your soul. If you see a butterfly and think, Oh, a butterfly, that’s a coincidence. If you see a butterfly and your heart suddenly leaps, or you get an “electric” feeling in your chest, or you’re suddenly overcome with a memory of your grandmother’s garden, that is a sign.
Trust your first impression. Your brain is a logical machine designed to talk you out of “weird” things. Your intuition is your soul’s GPS. When you get that sudden “nudge” or a feeling of being watched in a comforting way, don’t dismiss it. That’s your psychic readings happening in real-time. You are the medium for your own life!
Building a Spiritual Routine: Keep the Channel Open
You don’t have to be a celebrity psychic medium to have a daily connection with Heaven. You just need a little bit of consistency. Just like you wouldn’t expect to be a master pianist without practicing, you can’t expect a crystal-clear spiritual connection without a routine.
Here are a few simple habits to keep the signal strong:
- The Morning Greeting: Before you even get out of bed, say hello to your team. “Good morning, Mom. Good morning, Spirit Guides. I’m open to your guidance today.”
- The Gratitude Journal: When you do see a sign, write it down! This acknowledges the effort Spirit is making. The more you acknowledge the signs, the more they will send.
- Meditation and Quiet Time: You don’t need to sit in a lotus position for an hour. Just five minutes of quiet, focusing on your breath, helps clear the “static” we talked about earlier.
- Talk to Them: Talk to them while you’re driving or cooking. They hear you. It keeps the relationship active and vibrant.
