Have you ever heard the saying “What goes around, comes around “? If you have, then you have heard of KARMA.
Have you ever tried to clear out the emotional baggage and clutter and start off new ? We can’t just forget things that have happened in the past. Let’s stop and think for a minute about the idea of Karma. Basically, it means that what you put out into the universe comes back to you. If you are good and kind, goodness and kindness will come to you. If you are generous, your generosity will be rewarded.
But here’s the thing. Sometimes, karma might not come in a straight line. The universe might throw you a curveball. The great relationship you thought was going to be “the one” might end up being a lesson that steers you to something even better. When things don’t work out the way you think they should, instead of getting upset and thinking the universe is out to get you, stop for a moment and breathe, and trust that things will work out.
However you should know, there is both good and bad Karma and it all follows that rule “treat people how you want to be treated”. Even if someone does something that angers you, is it really worth your energy in retaliation ? Instead, stay positive and distance yourself from that person or situation and let the universe work it out.
When things get rough, sometimes you have to walk away. When other people around you are putting out negativity don’t let them drag you down. Don’t get caught up in their cycle of blame and guilt and self-pity. Don’t dwell on the negativity. Believe in the plan that the universe has for you!
Of course, we’re all human, and sometimes we make mistakes. Even when we try our best, there are times when we are the ones putting out negativity. But you always have the power to correct it. Take a minute to write a gratitude list or apologize if you’ve hurt someone’s feelings. If you’ve been grumpy or unkind, try to do something kind to balance it out. There are lots of ways to make it right if you’re willing to try.
And sometimes bad things just happen. But if you’re going through a hard time, try to remember there is a lesson in it for you, and maybe there is something that needs to happen. Losing a job or having a relationship end can be devastating, but keep in mind that if something is meant to be, it will happen. If it’s not, it won’t. And there’s a reason for everything even if you don’t understand it. Even when you can’t see it right away.
A friend of mine told me a story about a time when she lost her job. She was so scared about being unemployed. How would she support her children? While she sent out resumes, she found herself sitting at home depressed. Instead of staying in the negativity, she called her son’s teacher. “Give me something to do,” she asked him. “I need to get out of the house.”
As it happened, the school was going through a transition, and that teacher had been drowning in extra work. He was thrilled to have another pair of hands. Instead of sitting at home feeling sorry for herself, my friend spent her days being useful. Volunteering made her happy, so she went to job interviews with a sunny disposition. Right about the time things started calming down at the school, my friend got an offer for a job that was even better than the one she’d lost. “If I hadn’t lost my job, I couldn’t have been there when that teacher really needed me,” my friend says. “And if I hadn’t been helping him, I might have been too depressed to get my new job!”
What she thought was a tragedy turned out to be a real gift. Trust in the universe and come from a good place, and trust that what you put out will come back to you.
