From Heaven, They See What We Forget

Matt Fraser in a light-colored vest and pants walks through a sunny cemetery, surrounded by headstones and greenery.

As a psychic medium, I never know exactly what a spirit will say during a reading. Sometimes the message brings comfort. Other times it brings laughter or an inside joke. But every once in a while, a soul shares something completely unexpected and incredibly profound.

One of those moments came when a spirit said to me:

“I wish I had done more to pass down what mattered.”

That stopped me in my tracks.

When our loved ones cross into the spirit world, they go through something called a life review. It is not a punishment. It is not judgment. It is a loving reflection of their life. They see the good moments, the missed opportunities and everything in between. Through that review, so many spirits come to one realization:

It is not the money, the house or the material things that matter. It is the memories. The love. The legacy.

What Really Follows Us to Heaven?

I have done thousands of readings, and very rarely do spirits talk about their personal belongings. If they do, it is never about the object itself. It is about what it meant to someone they loved.

One example was a man whose father had passed. His dad owned a prized antique car that he had maintained and driven for decades. After the father died, the son was devastated to learn that the car had been sold.

During our reading, his father came through with a crystal clear message:

“Do not mourn the car. Remember the rides.”

He was not upset that the car was gone. What mattered to him were the memories of those drives. The laughter, the road trips and the time they spent together. He encouraged his son to bring those memories forward in his own life. Take his boys to car shows. Teach them about engines. Create new moments that echo the love they once shared.

That was the legacy he wanted to pass down. Not a car, but a connection.

A Grandmother’s Regret

Another spirit came through with a message filled with love, but also regret.

She was a warm Italian grandmother who brought her family together every Sunday for home-cooked meals. Pasta, sauces, bread from scratch. She was the heart of the kitchen and the center of every family gathering.

But after she passed, something changed.

The Sunday dinners stopped.

She had never written down her recipes. She had never taught anyone how to make them. And now the meals that once brought the entire family together were lost.

She told her granddaughter:

“I did not think about what would happen when I was not here. I was so busy taking care of everyone that I forgot to share what I knew.”

Her message was simple and powerful. Do not let tradition disappear. Start your own. Make new memories. Keep the legacy alive.

Share Their Song

I also once connected with a young man who passed tragically before his time. He was a musician who had poured his heart into his songs, but never had the chance to release them.

When he came through, he spoke directly to his mother and sister:

“Please share my music. Do not let my voice be forgotten. Let people hear what I created.”

It was a reminder that even though someone may no longer be physically here, their essence continues. Their creativity, their passion and their impact can still live on.

But that only happens when we choose to carry the torch forward.

Preserving the Legacy

These messages stay with me. They remind me how important it is not only to remember our loved ones, but to share their stories. Because if we do not, who will?

So many spirits express the same worry. They fear that their lessons, their values, their traditions and the love they gave will fade over time. Once the funeral ends and life moves forward, they fear their story will be lost.

But it does not have to be that way.

Life’s QR: A New Way to Keep Their Memory Alive

That is why I was so excited when I discovered Life’s QR. The moment I saw their idea, I knew I had to be part of it.

Life’s QR offers a modern and meaningful way to preserve a loved one’s legacy long after they have passed. Each stainless steel QR code plaque links to a beautifully designed online memorial that you can customize. When someone scans the code at a grave, bench or memorial site, they are instantly brought into a digital space that tells the full story of that person’s life.

You can add photos, videos, family trees, written memories and even voice messages.

Instead of only seeing a name and date carved in stone, imagine being able to truly know the person. To see their smile, hear their laugh and learn the moments that shaped their journey.

This turns a resting place into a living tribute.

It keeps their story alive.
It keeps their presence alive.
It honors what spirit so often asks us to do.
Keep the legacy going.

If someone you love has passed, I encourage you to honor their life in a way that reflects who they truly were. Whether they were a chef, a car lover, a musician or simply the glue that held your family together, share their story. Celebrate them. Preserve what made them special.

And if you want a lasting way to do that, take a look at Life’s QR.

Legacies should be lived, not lost. Love, when remembered, never dies.

To help you honor your loved ones, I asked Life’s QR to offer something special for my community. They agreed.
