Imagine America, almost a hundred years ago. As the evening settles over the street, women quietly climb a narrow staircase to a hidden room above the shops and passing traffic. Behind the door: lace tablecloths, flickering candles, china cups, and the comforting smell of fresh tea. At a corner table, a reader waits.
The women arrive one at a time, perhaps with a friend, perhaps alone. They lower their voices as they take their seats. Outside, the world carries on. Inside, a cup is turned, the leaves settle, and a private question finally finds a place to be spoken aloud.
Seeing a psychic is taboo. It is not something a respectable woman would admit to. She might tell her husband she is meeting a friend for lunch, then keep what happened at that table to herself. The room offers a rare kind of quiet, where questions about love, family, and the unseen can be shared without judgment.

A little mystery, a lot of heart
On Halloween Eve, we’re bringing back the psychic tea room. My team and I recreated it, and it will be open for one night only. Picture the warmth of that upstairs parlor, with the intimacy of a shared table, but from the comfort of your own home. You’ll be able to join me and my mom as we give readings together, live online.
Halloween Eve has long felt special to people who sense a connection between this world and the next. It is the night when, for many of us, the veil feels thinnest and Spirit’s signal strongest. You do not need to be certain of what you believe to join us. You only need to bring your curiosity, your memories, and an open heart.
My mom, Angela Fraser, will read tea leaves and tarot live. She has always had a way of looking at a cup and finding a story in the shapes left behind. I saw it as a little boy at our kitchen table, watching her read cups for friends and family. To me, the grounds looked like grounds. To Mom, they opened a door to a whole conversation.

During The Secret Tea Room, Angela will interpret the patterns she sees in tea leaves and tarot. I’ll work as a medium, sharing specific messages from loved ones in Spirit as they come through. You can ask questions and even request a loved one by name. In a group reading, the experience is shared, and not everyone is guaranteed a direct reading. Still, listening to another person’s message can sometimes bring comfort or a detail that feels meaningful to you, too.
