Have you ever wondered what it actually feels like when a psychic medium receives a message from the other side? Maybe you’ve watched one of my live readings and thought, How does he know that? How is he getting all of this information?
Here’s what I can tell you: spirits don’t sit down and have a conversation with me like you and I would over coffee. The language of the soul is something entirely different. It’s a beautiful, complex dance of feelings, images, colors, memories, and symbols that I’ve spent my entire life learning to interpret.
Today, I want to pull back the curtain and show you exactly how mediumship readings work. Because understanding this process can bring you so much peace and clarity, especially if you’ve been longing to hear from someone you’ve lost.
Spirits Speak Without Words
One of the biggest misconceptions about what I do as a psychic medium is that spirits talk to me in complete sentences. Sometimes they do send me words or names, but more often than not, they communicate through sensations and imagery.
Think about it this way. When you dream, you don’t always hear dialogue, right? You experience feelings, see faces, visit familiar places. That’s actually pretty close to how spirits reach out to me.
I once knew a woman who came to a reading desperate to hear from her grandmother. The moment she sat down, I was hit with the overwhelming smell of tomato sauce and basil. Not just any sauce, but that slow-cooked, homemade Italian gravy that takes all day to make. I asked her, “Did your grandmother make sauce? Like, was she famous for it in your family?”
She burst into tears. Her grandmother had spent every Sunday making her famous gravy, and the whole family would gather around her kitchen. That smell was her grandmother’s way of saying, “I’m here. I remember. I’m still with you.”
No words were needed. That single sensory experience said everything.
The Three Main Ways I Receive Messages
As America’s Top Psychic Medium, I’ve had thousands of readings, and I’ve come to understand that spirit communication typically comes through three main channels. Let me break them down for you:
1. Clairvoyance (Clear Seeing)
This is when I receive visual images, almost like watching a movie clip in my mind. I might see a specific location, a piece of jewelry, or even how someone passed. Sometimes spirits show me symbols that I’ve learned to decode over the years. A butterfly might represent transformation or a soul that passed young. A military uniform tells me about service. A wedding ring might indicate an anniversary or a strong marriage.
2. Clairsentience (Clear Feeling)
This one is intense. I literally feel what the spirit wants me to know in my own body. If someone passed from a heart condition, I might feel pressure in my chest. If they were a warm, nurturing person, I’m flooded with this cozy, comforting feeling. Recently a client of mine received a message from her father, and I felt this overwhelming sense of pride wash over me. He was so proud of who she had become.
3. Clairaudience (Clear Hearing)
Sometimes I do hear words, names, or phrases. It’s like a thought that isn’t my own pops into my head. A name. A nickname. A saying that the person always used. These verbal cues often serve as validation that yes, this is absolutely your loved one coming through.
The Art of Translation
Here’s the thing that takes years to master: interpretation.
Spirits send me puzzle pieces, and it’s my job to put them together in a way that makes sense to you. This is why working with an experienced psychic medium matters so much. Someone who hasn’t developed their gift might receive a symbol and not know what to do with it.
For example, when I see the color blue around a spirit, it could mean several things. Were they a calm, peaceful person? Did they love the ocean? Was blue their favorite color? Did they work in law enforcement (think blue uniform)? I have to feel into the energy and let the spirit guide me toward the right meaning.
It’s like learning a new language, except this language is unique to each spirit. Your grandmother might communicate differently than your best friend who passed. Part of my gift is being flexible and open to however they choose to reach out.
Why Symbols Matter So Much
Spirits are incredibly clever. They know exactly what symbols, memories, and feelings will resonate with you specifically.
Has something like this ever happened to you? You’re thinking about someone who passed, and suddenly their favorite song comes on the radio. Or you find a coin in an unusual place. Or you smell their perfume when no one is around.
These are all forms of spirit communication. Your loved ones are using symbols to let you know they’re near.
In mediumship readings, I receive these symbols on a much more concentrated level. A spirit might show me:
- A specific flower they loved
- A holiday or birthday that’s coming up
- An inside joke only you two shared
- A piece of furniture from their home
- Their favorite food or drink
Each symbol is carefully chosen because the spirit knows it will mean something to you. They want you to have that “Oh my God, that’s really them!” moment.
How This Brings Healing
I’ve been called one of the best psychics in the United States, and I can tell you that the most rewarding part of what I do isn’t the fame or the TV appearances. It’s watching someone’s grief transform into peace right before my eyes.
When you understand that your loved ones are still with you, still aware of your life, still sending you love, everything changes. The messages I translate aren’t just random pieces of information. They’re proof of an unbreakable connection.
I recently did a reading for a young man who lost his brother unexpectedly. He was carrying so much guilt, wondering if he could have done something different. His brother came through and showed me a specific baseball cap, the kind with a frayed brim that had clearly been worn hundreds of times. The brother in spirit wanted him to know he still wears it on the other side.
That detail, so small and specific, released years of grief. Because it proved his brother wasn’t just gone. He was still himself, still connected, still present.
Your Loved Ones Want to Reach You
If you’ve been hoping to hear from someone on the other side, please know this: they want to reach you just as much as you want to hear from them. The love you shared doesn’t end with physical death. It transforms, it expands, and it continues.
Understanding the language of the soul can help you recognize the signs your loved ones are already sending. That sudden thought of them, that feeling of warmth, that song or symbol that keeps appearing. These are all messages. You just have to learn how to listen.
If you’re ready to experience this connection for yourself, I’d love to help. With peace from the other side,
