I was sitting in my office earlier today, just quiet and still, doing what I always do before an event. I was meditating, clearing my energy, and getting ready for tonight’s online group reading. I love these moments because it is when the doorway between our world and the next starts to swing wide open.
Usually, I start to feel the “regulars” coming through, the grandfathers with their cigars or the moms who want to make sure I tell their kids to stop worrying. But today, something truly amazing happened. As I was sitting there with my eyes closed, I saw a beautiful woman in spirit standing right in front of me. She looked so peaceful, but what caught my attention was what she was holding.
In her arms, she was cradling a tiny little baby.
This grandmother in spirit looked at me and said that her daughter would be attending tonight’s online group reading. She told me that the baby she was holding was the soul her daughter had miscarried many years ago. She specifically said to me, “Matt, my daughter isn’t expecting this. She doesn’t think her baby will be there because the baby was never actually born.”
I wanted to share this with you right now because I know there are so many of you out there who have carried this same quiet weight in your heart. You might have wondered, Is my baby okay? Do they even know who I am? I want you to know that the answer is a resounding yes.
The Soul Bond That Never Breaks
One of the biggest misconceptions I hear as a medium is the idea that a soul needs a certain amount of time on Earth to “count.” People often think that if a baby was miscarried, stillborn, or only lived for a few short moments, they haven’t developed a soul yet.
I am here to tell you that couldn’t be further from the truth.
The soul does not wait for birth to become “real.” The soul bond begins the moment that connection is made with the mother. Whether a child lived for eighty years or only a few weeks in the womb, that soul is whole, complete, and incredibly vibrant. When I saw that grandmother holding that baby, that child wasn’t just a “memory” or a “potential.” That baby was a living, breathing soul in the spirit world.
Have you ever felt a sudden warmth in your chest when you thought about the child you lost? Or maybe you’ve had a dream where you were holding a baby, and it felt so real that you woke up with tears in your eyes? That isn’t just your imagination. That is a special visit from heaven.
Do Tiny Souls Have a Voice?
Another thing that mother in spirit told me was how important it is for her daughter to know that her baby can speak. You might wonder, How can a baby talk to me if they never learned to speak here on Earth?
In the spirit world, we don’t use our vocal cords the way we do here. Communication in heaven is done through thought, emotion, and what I call “the language of the soul.” It doesn’t matter if a soul passed away before they could say their first word or if they were an old soul who lived a long life. In spirit, every soul has the ability to communicate perfectly.
They speak through signs. They speak through the way they make you feel. Even the tiniest souls can project their love and their messages directly into your heart. When they want to reach out, they don’t need English or any other human language. They use spirit communication to bypass the brain and go straight to your spirit.
This is why signs are so incredibly important. Have you been seeing a certain butterfly lately? Or maybe you keep hearing a specific song on the radio that makes you think of the nursery you were planning? These are not coincidences. Those are the “unspoken words” of a child who wants you to know they are right there with you.
Why They Choose to Stay With Family
What was so touching about my meditation today was seeing the grandmother holding the baby. It reminded me that in heaven, no one is ever alone. If you have lost a child, I want you to take a deep breath and realize that they are being cared for by your own loved ones who have passed on.
Your mother, your father, or your grandparents are there acting as the “heavenly welcoming committee.” They are raising those children, loving them, and keeping them close until the day you are reunited. That baby I saw today wasn’t lost, they were being cradled by a grandmother who loves them just as much as the daughter here on Earth does.
Spirit communication is healing because it removes the “what ifs.” It removes the guilt that so many parents feel after a miscarriage or a loss. I’ve met so many women who feel like they failed their babies, but your baby doesn’t see it that way. They don’t hold any resentment. They only feel the love you had for them during the time you carried them. They remember the sound of your heartbeat. They remember the sound of your voice when you whispered to your belly.
The Language of Signs
If you are coming to my online group reading tonight, or if you are just reading this and missing someone, I want you to start looking for the most common signs from spirit.
Little children and babies in spirit are actually some of the best at sending signs. Because they don’t have the “clutter” of a long life full of Earthly worries, their energy is very pure and very strong. They can flick a light, move a toy, or cause a sudden scent to fill the room just to let you know they are playing nearby.
Don’t be scared if you feel a little tug on your shirt or if you hear a faint giggle in a quiet room. It is just their way of saying, “Hey Mom, I’m still here!”
I often tell people that sending a message to heaven is as simple as talking out loud. You don’t need a fancy ritual or a special place. You can be driving in your car or washing the dishes. Just speak to them. Tell them you love them. Tell them you miss them. I promise you, they hear every single word.
Healing Through Connection
The reason I do what I do is because I want everyone to understand that the bond of love is stronger than death. It doesn’t matter how old a person was when they passed. It doesn’t matter if they only breathed for a few seconds or if they were stillborn. Their soul is eternal.
Tonight, when I step in front of that camera for the group reading, I know that grandmother and that tiny baby are going to be there waiting. And there will be hundreds of other souls there too, all waiting to say one thing: “I am okay, and I am still with you.”
If you’ve been feeling like you’re “different” or that your grief is somehow less valid because your loss happened early in pregnancy, please stop thinking that way. Your loss is real, your love is real, and your baby is real. When you’re feeling different than everyone else, remember that heaven sees you and heaven honors your motherhood.
